6th February,2012 - Displaying his hold over the region, Mathura MP and Rashtriya Lok Dal (RLD) General Secretary Jayant Chaudhary filed nomination from Mat assembly segment on Monday. Jayant is starting his innings in the state politics by contesting assembly election from Mat which is part of his Lok Sabha constituency.

The nomination was marked by massive participation of youth in the processions taken out on this occasion. The roads in Mathura saw huge turn out of youth who had come from neighbouring districts in the region.

In view of the response, Jayant Chaudhary has generated in Agra, Mathura region in last fortnight through his road shows the prospects of RLD candidates on neighbouring assembly seats are being considered to be brightened. RLD state president, Baba Hardev Singh is also a candidate from Etmadpur assembly seat in Agra district. Jayant Chaudhary himself in an easy contest  is pitted against seven time MLA from Mat, Shyam Sunder Sharma who is contesting as an independent candidate this time.

Ahead of filing nomination, addressing a huge gathering of supporters Jayant Chaudhary who was accompanied by his wife and daughter, exhorted youth to change the politics of state through ballot in this assembly election.

Jayant asked the first and second time voters to exercise their franchise in favour of RLD-Congress combine so that era of corrupt and ineligible politicians could be ended in UP.

Hitting at ruling BSP for corruption and neglecting farmers, he said, in this  region, extending from Mathura to Ghaziabad Mayawati government had conspired handing over the fertile lands to industrialists and land developers which would have caused migration of farmers on large scale.

Now the time has come, when farmers should tell chief minister Mayawati what their lands meant to them, said Jayant Chaudhary.
