RLD MP Jayant Chaudhary inaugurated tourist shelters in Mathura on the Vrindavan Parikrama Marg. A total of 16 shelters are due to come up on the Mathura Vrindavan Parikrama, and 14 on the Goverdhan Parikrama; both sites of tourist and religious importance. Each shelter costs 1.28 Lakh Rs., has been constructed using Member of Parliament Local Area Development (MPLAD) funds, and will be a valuable public amenity with solar lighting and a backlit information display on the historical and cultural significance of the site and a route map for visitors. On the back of the Civil Aviation Ministry’s move to start helicopter operations from Vrindavan to Delhi through Pawan Hans Helicopters Ltd., this is another major developmental initiative for Mathura / Vrindavan taken by the MP, Shri Jayant Chaudhary.

Coming out in support of farmers facing legal proceedings in Agra and Mathura districts for agitating against Uttar Pradesh's land acquisition drive, RLD MP from Mathura, Jayant Chaudhary, today demanded that the cases against them be withdrawn. The RLD leader, in a letter to UP Chief Minister Akhilesh Yadav, said it was highly unjustified that farmers were forced to give up their land and also had to bear the brunt of police brutality and face legal action. Since the UP government had already withdrawn cases against farmers of Bhatta Parsaul, it would be prudent to withdraw cases against farmers in Agra, Mathura, Meerut and Allahabad districts of Uttar Padesh, he pointed out.
Several cases were slapped against the farmers in the wake of their agitation during the previous Mayawati regime in UP.
